Objectives: The study aimed to evaluate the economic dimension of the sustainable development goals, as stated in the national strategy, Jordan’s Vision 2025, by comparing the actual results for the years ending in the life of the planet, and the predicted results for the remaining years, and comparing them with the set goals.
Methodology: The study used the descriptive approach to organize, tabulate, and present data and measure variables. Quantitative data and indicators related to economic goals were obtained from the National Strategy Booklet, Jordan Vision 2025. As for the actual results of the economic indicators, they were obtained from reports of the Central Bank of Jordan and reports from the Department of Statistics. It also relied on the analytical approach to calculate missing data, where the forecasting method was used to obtain the expected performance for the years 2024 and 2025. The method of comparing the set goals and the actual performance was also used and calculating the deviation between the goal and the result to reach the results of the study.
Results: The study concluded that the national strategy, Jordan Vision 2025, was unable to achieve its declared goals in the economic dimension, as it showed a decline in growth rates below the set goals and a decline in the ratio of public debt to the volume of current expenditures, and also a decline in the volume of revenues to the total domestic product. The results also showed an increase in Unemployment rates were significantly higher than the rates adopted by the strategy, and it failed to fight and eliminate poverty as promised. The results also showed that the human development indicators, corruption perceptions indicators, and competitiveness index of the Jordanian economy declined below the goals set by the national strategy, Jordan Vision 2025.
