Author Guidelines

Submission Requirements for Alghad Medical Journal (AMJ)

Authors are invited to submit original research articles, review papers, case reports, and short communications in all fields of medicine. Submissions must adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Manuscript Format

  • Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.

  • Use Times New Roman, size 12 pt, and 1.5 line spacing.

  • Include the following sections:

    • Title Page

    • Abstract (max 250 words)

    • Keywords (3–6 keywords)

    • Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion (IMRAD) structure

    • References

2. Abstract

  • Structured abstract required for original research (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion).

  • Non-structured abstract accepted for case reports and reviews.

3. Referencing Style

  • Use Vancouver style for references.

  • Examples:

    • Journal Article:
      Smith J, Doe A. Treatment of hypertension in adults. J Med Res. 2020; 45(2):123-9.

    • Book:
      Brown K. Clinical Pharmacology. 4th ed. Oxford: Oxford University Press; 2018.

4. Figures and Tables

  • All figures must be in high resolution (300 dpi minimum).

  • Place tables and figures at the end of the manuscript or in separate files.

5. Ethical Approval

  • Research involving human or animal subjects must include ethical approval and consent statements.

6. Language

  • Submissions must be in English and grammatically correct.

7. Plagiarism

  • All submissions are screened. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

8. Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • Libyan authors: 350 LYD

  • International authors: 150 USD

9. Submission Process

  • All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's online system.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

  • Authors retain copyright of their work, and grant the Alghad Medical Journal the right of first publication.

  • The article will be published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), which permits use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

  • Authors are allowed to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.

  • The authors warrant that the manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not currently under consideration by any other journal.
